2016 Pimba Syrah
97 Points - James Halliday 2018
Another incredible year in the Yarra Valley, the 2016 vintage was slightly warmer than 2016 with more mild nights and intermittent rainfall through the season.
This Syrah was vinified in a single fermenter with indigenous vineyard years, whole berries and 30% whole bunches, before maturation in neutral French hogsheads for 10 months.
Brilliant crimson-purple hue; a wonderfully juicy and seductive wine with a pure silk texture to the long, pirouetting palate of red and black fruits. Not the greatest of wines, but one of the most magical. Just love it. 97 Points. (James Halliday Wine Companion 2018)
Decant and drink now, or cellar until 2031, this Syrah is perfect for either.
